One of the major highlights of the Sardine run, that has evaded the crew up until now, is the amazing Brydes whale (Balaenoptera edeni)

  • Was There a diver attached to the Camera that got hit by the Whale's Tail?

  • @nhreef Oh yes! All our underwater stuff is shot by real people. no robots or cyber-dolphins :)

  • @earthtouch thanks for the vid. I am thinking of going. I don't worry about the sharks, been there to do the baited tiger dives, but how do you avoid being swallow by the whale when it comes from underneath with mouth open? i worry about that.

  • Stunning...Never seen anything like this!

  • That's beautiful! Thank you for that!

  • stupendo spettacolare

  • omg it's HUGE. i would've been gone ages before then.

anyway, dolphins are smart creatures, they do deliberate things like that. i think they drive up the sardines to the birds for a purpose. maybe it forces the sardines right to the dolphins when the birds invade. it's quite a feast.

and the whale probably picks them off the sides for a similar reason, to keep them from spreading out, or to keep himself from getting blinded or disoriented by the sardines.

    great video again.

  • This is AMAZING!
