Also, I don't think any hijackers could bring anything more dangerous than nail clippers on board, but even then they'd have to bee in the cargo hold.

This is most likely an MD-80 series plane. If the engine were to fly off (which is very unlikely), then there would have been minor damage to the outside of the plane. The MD-80s are designed only to fly on a single engine. The worst one thing that may happen is that the window could break and pieces of the engine could fly into the cabin. Otherwise, the plane could have easily landed safely, with no loss of life.

Wow she must have been really nervous... i get the same way i just think of what im gonna do after i get there or since i like to eat i bring lyk doritos in my carry on and gum and that will always help me.

everyone gets nervous on their first plane ride, especially those who have seen and or heard reports of terrible plane crashes or hikackings. I live in Australia and my first plane ride was two years ago, and even though I knew our planes were some of the safest in the world, I was still concerned at first.
