Retired Grand Trunk Railroad Telegraph Operator Bob Hibbard is seen communicating via telegraph from the Michigan Historical Museum at Lansing, Michigan. He is talking with Bill Dunbar located in Bloomington, Illinois.

Both Bob and his father were operators on the Grand Trunk at various locations in Michigan.

The telegraph demonstration was conducted in conjunction with the grand opening of the "Plowshares into Swords" exhibit commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the US Civil War.
