Gain at 4-5, best tone of this amp ; playing with guitar volume, it's fantastic !!!

I'd like to know more about the attenuator that dkimcg nentions. I have this Amp, but just can't seem to get decent sound out of it. When playing it at low volume does not have much tone, and when playing it louder than low volume to get better tone have to crank way up. Sounds better loud, but still lacking something.

Get a attenuator and you can hear what the amp sounds like past 1 or 2. I have the same amp, added a THD HotPlate and now it feels almost like a different amp with the volume up past 5. :)
