  • That's a bit harsh. At least they are trying to learn about medicine. The difference is obvious to us because we have been taught about it in pharmacology. Our job is to educate the public.

  • I don't mean to be rude - but you need to get off the internet.. your reading too much and not understanding it. OTC sleep medicines and salad dressing do not have ethylene glycol in it - antifreeze does. This is a medical student level video. Trust me your NOT at risk.

  • yes your husband is right it is compound found in antifreeze

  • Ethylene glycol (monoethylene glycol (MEG), IUPAC name: ethane-1,2-diol) is an alcohol with two -OH groups (a diol), a chemical compound widely used as an automotive antifreeze. TOXIC!!!

Propylene glycol, known also by the systematic name propane-1,2-diol, is an organic compound (a diol alcohol), usually a tasteless, odorless, and colorless clear oily liquid that is hygroscopic and miscible with water, acetone, and chloroform. IT IS NON TOXIC!

  • I have also found it on many food labels, including blue cheese dressing. I thru the bottle out. Can you please give me some information on this? Thank you very much!

  • Is propylene glycol and ethelyne glycol the same? I have found propylene glycol on many food labels....isn't this toxic to injest. I have also found it on over the counter sleep medicines. My husband says its anti freeze. Is this true?
