Emory math professor Ken Ono explains major breakthroughs in our understanding of partition numbers, the basis for adding and counting. Ono and his colleagues discovered that partition numbers behave like fractals, and they devised the first finite formula to calculate the partitions of any number. These new theories were hundreds of years in the making, and answer some famous old questions in math. To learn more, visit: www.emory.edu/esciencecommons.

I am shocked...
Amazingly, not only is the guy good at math, but much more importantly he can TEACH.
So we actually have a teacher who can teach
Which to me is more amazing than the theory.

He can teach but the subject has no use outside the class room.....this classes are the reason the high cost in education and length to graduate. I work for The Boeing Company and I had never I mean never seen an engineer using any thing here.....well yes the word partition, and infinite and the sign of +and - and some times reference to other math issues regarding euler such as calculus, optics, light, but this here never.

Wrong claims here. The creator of software like windows and the others that followed based the software systems under the structure of FAT, NTFS, and HPFS files where this was accomplished by allowing the cluster to be defined as multiples of the hardware's natural allocation size. Size in Finally, in NTFS all filenames are Unicode based. These formulas here were the pass time of the true mathematicians no application in real world life. PC structure is bit, bytes and their multiples.

I wish more math classes were this way. I like being confused to the point where I'm just dabbling with things out of curiosity. What fun is math if it appears trivial.
