  • @ReezeGoingSenseless Well the 60% figure that the Republicans always tote around is a deliberate misrepresentation of the numbers. Yes about 60% of Americans did not like the Health Care bill that we ended up with, but what they don't tell you is that nearly 30% of those people didn't like it because it wasn't liberal enough. So when you really break it down honestly, a significant majority of the country does want reform.

  • @AmericanBadass44

And where did you get this statistic? Whoever manufactured it obviously can't add seeing as all of the different groups of people represented in the statistics add up to 59.9 million, not 47. Apart from that, the point isnt even about who can afford it and who cant. It should be free, and for everyone, even if they dont want it. Car insurance isnt a choice either right? Im sure youll assume that to be pure totalitarian communism. Thats your fuckin problem.

  • @thekelvin5000 Well, then I hope you don't bother with the government provided schools, or the government provided police, or the government provided fire department, or the government provided city maintenance, or the... Capitalism is great, yes, and definitely my preferred form of government, but believe me, if the city sent you, personally, a bill, every time they filled a pot hole, you'd be looking for a little bit of "socialism".

  • i thought it was the pharmaceutical companies that ran healthcare, silly me

  • @polevaultrockstr health insurance isn't a service it's a scam

  • This guy loves allowing a government monopoly to decide what is best for him, as oppose to taking control of his life and shopping for the best service. Free choice is sooooooooo scary isn't it Bill?

  • I don't understand why some people are so opposed to public healthcare but accept public education. The point is there are 3 things humans and society needs to function well: health, education, security. These 3 things are for the benefit of all, this is, the human society, thus, these 3 things should be totally provided and supported by any advanced society.

  • America's 47 million uninsured

18 million - People who can afford it, but don't want it.

    8.4 million - 18 to 25 year olds who think they're "indestructible"

12.6 million - Illegal immigrants (So who cares?)

9.4 million - People who are in between jobs and only temporarily uninsured

8 million - Children who are covered but haven't been signed up by their parents

3.5 million - People eligible for government health programs that they haven't signed up for

  • Not to mention rebuilding New Orleans.

  • Postal Service Is Nearing Default as Losses Mount

The United States Postal Service has long lived on the financial edge, but it has never been as close to the precipice as it is today: the agency is so low on cash that it will not be able to make a $5.5 billion payment due this month and may have to shut down entirely this winter unless Congress takes emergency action to stabilize its finances.

  • Libs always point to the best of times as proof that big government works. Like when Clinton lucked out with an internet boom that created millionaires overnight and sent capital gains taxes off the charts. (Never mind the fact that Social Security was forced to buy US debt by law with the extra money it had coming in. As such, the government did not have to borrow from the public for once, allowing Slick Willy to lie and say he ran a surplus. But that debt to SS is as real as public debt.)
