President Obama Answers a Question about Abortion and the Freedom of Choice Act

At his primetime press conference on April 29, 2009 President Obama was asked about abortion and his current prioritization of the Freedom of Choice Act.

This president is way out of touch with reality!!!! How many women consult their family, their physican, and their clergy before an abortion? If they do happen to tell a family member it is the one who will agree with their decision already or will pressure them to abort, the physican is the abortion doctor, and their clergy is the television or magazine. Obama says he bases this moral and ethical position on how serious women take this? That is the craziest thing I ever heard of.

I would not be too quick to judge, it may just be you who is out of touch with reality. It has been my experience that women absolutely take the decision very seriously.

I agree with Pres. Obama 100%. There is no such thing as "Pro-Life". We are all pro-life as human beings, and this issue should NEVER have been used as a political issue.

Don't be fooled by his"nice guy" empty rhetoric. " . Appointing a commission is virtually meaningless, as he'll either pack the commission with PRO ABORTIONISTS or just ignore any commissions' PRO LIFE findings. His answer is RADICALLY different than the clear position he took in the campaign- that FOCA passage was his #1 priority. His pre-election voting record is 100% Pro- Abortion including pro partial birth abortion. His post election executive orders are extremely PRO ABORTION as well

In other words, premeditation does not make something right or wrong. When a life is being taken from a human being or an animal, it doesn't make it right just because you premeditated on it. The question must be answered, is it alive or not. Then, is it a plant, an animal, or a human being. And if it is a human being, what right do you or me or anyone have to take it's life. And who gives that right and do they have the right to give that right.

I never said they didn't take it seriously. Re-read what I wrote. I said this president is basing a moral and ethical decision on whether or not someone takes something serious or not. That is ludicrus. He also makes it sound like they are consulting family members and their physicians and their clergy. That is bull crap on the whole. The majority of these women are scared, nervous, and afraid to let very many people know. In many cases it is the boyfriends pressuring them.

Ethical is either right or wrong. So it is okay for someone to do right or wrong based on whether someone takes it serious or not? This president is weird. I would ask, why is it wrong? Who gets hurt or in this case killed and loses their life? Is a baby alive? how do we define life and whether something is alive or not.
