WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, U.S Representative Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) voted for the repeal of ObamaCare.
Lummis released the following statement:
"ObamaCare is not the real reform that Americans want and need. Instead, it is a violation of the Constitution, it disregards the wishes of the American people, and it has severe economic and financial impacts for the future of our country.
"In one fell swoop, ObamaCare calls for radical changes to a very personal aspect within the lives of every American. Instead of empowering the patient and their doctor, ObamaCare empowers the federal government. This law saddles Wyoming patients, their doctors, hospitals and small businesses with a swath of new mandates, regulations and financial burdens.
"In Wyoming, we place special importance on independence and personal responsibility. ObamaCare threatens these values and replaces them with big government dependency and coercion.
"People in Wyoming and all Americans deserve better. We face many challenges and we have a lot at stake. We simply can't afford to remain complacent and accept reckless and dangerous policies as status quo.
"Americans want common sense, patient-centered solutions that are affordable and accessible. We must work together to make these priorities a reality."
