Thank you for these posts. He can be lyrical. This was a great ending. I agree that there are transcendental expereinces and the venerable monuments of Human culture (The pyramids, The Illiad, the Parthenon, etc.) provide an opportunity to elevate our species to some lasting signifigance. These are glories of Human creativity. Proof that divinity is a powerful metaphore.

One of the greatest thinkers and humanists of our time. Sad to see such a brilliant mind would be quietened at such an early age. Hope he's around for a while. Wish him well.

What he says at the end reminds me of Beethoven in the Missa Solemnis, when he is trying to create a great work of music whilst guarding against the details of the ideology itself.
