  • Very cool. I just picked up my Zhumell 8" dobsonian. One of my first targets was Jupiter. I am interested in how you interface the VX-3000 to the telescope.

  • I just put the webcam over the eyepiece. The webcam was connected with a laptop. I had to do some color and brightness settings for it to capture sharper picture.

  • great job im planning on buying a meade lightbridge 8 inch dobsonian truss telescope. I have been reading about space a while and have recently gotten into it and would like to buy my first telescope. my 8th grade science teacher recomended a reflector telescope becuase refracting telescopes arent as clear and turn the image upsidedown. he said to get atleast a 6 in reflector. all of them were about 300 bucks then i saw the meade with an extra two inches for 400 bucks! Is this a good choice?

  • sweet! im getting a Zhumell 10 inch dobsonian for my birthday, i live in NC too
