  • interesting, Sean, in that Capa shows the strength of breaking into the seventh rank, as advocated by Nimzowitsch. even the temporary loss of material is here compensated by attacks against the king and pieces that are weaker in defense than in offense.

  • Absolutely, and seeing the strength of breaking through with sacrifices is a very important component of attacking in chess. Thanks!

  • Oh, the joy of it. I finish watching a video and return to my inbox to find that familiar pale fritzy brown board that signifies a brand new SGG vid. Loving this series.

  • Ha! Cool. More coming soon! All the best,

    Sean

  • great vids & by the way capa's book is available 4 free at google books!

  • @SeanGGodley you should make videos of the zurich 54 tournament book by bronstein too.. or lessons from botvinnik or fisher

  • Thank you for that - it's very good indeed. Capablanca certainly was in the top 3 of all time in my opinion, and you've done a good job with these vids, they're very instructive and helpful. Hopefully my rating will start to improve!

  • Woohoo! Thanks man. Here's to the next hundred!
