China's iPed

With the recent release of Apple's iPad, China was hard at work in creating a duplicate copy of the ever popular gadget. The iPed is currently running on Google's Android operating system.

@Tetrodioxide Furthermore, you do not need to have and understanding of magnetism to invent the compass. I never said that. Please don't put words into my mouth. Zheng He's voyages took him all over the Indian Ocean and East Asia. However, like I said, the treasury was drained and the voyages stopped.

@Tetrodioxide I never said they invented everything. Give credit where credit is due. The huolongjing was a musket/ hand cannon invented by China. They developed the musket to conquer the tribes of southeast asia, who often used elephant troops. The musket was then traded to the Arabs. That is not to say the Europeans did not have muskets either, it was just that Europeans had arquebuses.

@Noobssuckass300 And respectfully, they did not understand why a compass worked. No one did until magnetism was understood, which has a rich long history but culminated in the 19th Century with Faraday (and others) who united the force with electricity. What it was and how it was generated, was not understood by the Chinese--it was nonetheless exploited for navigation, but then again not anywhere near the extent as the West had.

@Noobssuckass300 To call what they had a "musket" is like saying the Amazonian tribesmen had "missile technology" because they propelled spears. Look, it is obvious you think I am dissing on China. They have done amazing historical things. But don't say silly statements like you did. They astronomy (independent from the West) was amazing. And the Great Wall just beyond wonderment. But these other statements just take away from those true achievements and come across petty.
