  • Oh I could not agree with you more about faith. My parents are both 'born again' and so much of what they say is blind faith. I say to them that faith is simply what they choose to believe.

To be honest though, I do feel science can be religious too.

I like to aim for an open mind as my feeling is that every time we have black and white beliefs we block possibilities.

    Interesting post. Thanks for sharing.

  • Yeah, open mind is free to choose, not a dogma religious or scientific, but institutions like the church in history...not only ancient history.

  • religion is a disease! I hope the scientists will find a cure and then there will be peace in the world.

  • I know it...

  • Now this, mind you, can be any belief at all. Greens fight with loggers. Animal rights groups fight with loggers. Farmers fight with developers. Capitalists fight with communists. Hell, bring in race if you want to. And yes, there are times when we fight over metaphysical theories and moral laws. But we fight over them with the same passion, for the same reasons, as we fight over land and political decisions.

We fight over what we think is true, and for any other reason.

    That said, good vid.

  • What it really has to do with is humanity's social system. As infants, we look around us and slowly become attached with things that we are familiar with. We mimic our parents in an attempt to fit in with the social order and maybe sometimes push the limits to see where that social order ends. As time grows on, we learn from our parents about what is true and false in the world. We become attached to those beliefs. And, sometimes, we fight over them with those who don't share them.

  • B. want others to think and act as they do. This is a pretty basic point, one that indeed those who agree with this video might support. But this is merely a basic trait of humanity and not due to some false God or anything. Hell, Atheists want everyone else to believe as they do, not due to them being fanatics or something, but just because it's a basic human instinct.

Anyone with an opinion wants, deep down, everyone else to share that opinion.

Religion has nothing to do with it.

  • I think this is very much a logical fallacy when it comes to the argument "religion = violence, lol."

I think I may say with good reason that it is a basic characteristic for humanity to:

    A. fight over things, be it verbal or physical, violent or non-violent. Protests, wars, revolutions, internet debates, this very video and any other like it; they're all just means to an end. An outcome is wanted and that's that.

(continued in reply to this comment)

  • .......I don't believe in religion, But when ppl start dying for it, to me that's just a Cult. It's all a big scam to me.
