Reminds me of henry mancini.

looking for his scores from the beach party movies.....

Don't you just LOVE that snappy percussion? What a beautiful assemblage of album covers! Les seems like such a sanguined, cheerful guy who probably knew how to throw parties that were out of this world! With his "exotica" orchestra the guy seemed like he could make anyone smile!
Thanks for your great, uplifting tunes, Les, and RIP.

I'm just introducing in this genre, I would like to know more about exotica and this kind of old lounge, Some nice links or info?
I feel like a little girl discovering a new magic world!

@jazz4 DO IT! Can u achieve greatness by appealing 2 the LCD?

This music almost like nothing I've heard. It's jazz-like, but not necessarily jazz.

Just starting to get into this talented and intriguing musician - thanks for the intersting video. Sound is first rate.

I just bought two CDs today..and have two of the LPs pictured here. Is that your collection, lazarslounge? Respect, thats what i call devoted. Les Baxter was so unbelievable ahead of his time and yet popular, his tunes as well as his sound and arrangements still stand the test of time.

I'm very glad you like the tribute. He was one of the most prominent representatives of the so called "Space Age Music" period. Great composer. He even arranged most of Elvis Presley's first albums. Regards :)
