Arden Zinn started sailing Snipes in Michigan in the early 1950's in a boat that had previously been used by his older sister. Arden had success in those early years, but always felt the Snipe was a family boat - one that you can have a good time sailing whether you are 16 or 65.
Hi Arden,
I.m Ann's cousin Chuck, same cottage on Crescent Beach.. I still remember crewing for you in your Snipe and learning a heck of a lot. And I still remember Penny also. The summers at the lake are golden in my memories. The lessons stuck and when I moved to the coast of Maine I had no trouble remembering my sailing skills. Just more wind. If you're ever in the Mount Desert Island (Acadia National Park) area look me up please.
