Squeezing lime juice directly on them might make them soggy- but you might try dipping them in salsa mojo (check other youtube videos- I'm sure there's one explaining how to make it)- which is basically a citrusy-garlic sauce that needn't include any salt if you're looking for a non-salt seasoning alternative.

  • woww in rd we don't put it into water nice trick

  • Best way to know if the logs(troncos) are ready to be pressed is to tap them with a metal spoon or fork ,if they make a hard sound they are ready other wise they will be coarse inside. Also use a plate's bottom instead of a tostonera that way they come out thiner and healthier and make sure that the oil temperature is hotter for when you fry them the second time if not they will come out full of oil.Do not soak them in salt water I thing they will lose that crispy taste just put salt and press

  • I have made them this way and they come out great. I have highbooldpressure so i have to limit my salt intake to almost nothing. I find the salt water to be better for me than loading them up with salt afterwards. I am going to try it without the salt water and try using limes or lemons to top it off. This is what is prefered because of my highbloodpressure. It will change the taste slightly but i don't see that as a bad thing...just different.

  • what every mother uses in Colombia: a plate. Just put it on the cutting board and smashed slowly. U don't need to dip it in salted water, just salt it thouroughly.

  • OMG yo! Ese mi cancion!

  • Ya hands lol, cause that's what I use

  • wut if u dont hav 1 of those flattening things....wut do u use then?
