Hi, I know apertures control light entrance and depth of field, but, I want to know How the light rays enters through the lenses, are they in cone shape, and if so, I would think (but it's not true), that decreasing the aperture, would remove some light rays coming into the sensor, thus reducing the quantity of informarion at the border of the image... how does it works??

@kamihakai Its an excellent question, I should probably make a video about it. While total amount of light is indeed decreased, the coverage of the media is the same. (And yes it is cone shaped). Wider apertures allow for more light to enter the lens, but the coverage of the media is the same.

Did I got something wrong or did you?
Please check @ 2:17 I thought that aperture equals focal lenght divided with diameter of entrance size, not the iris diameter.

@tomislavhecimovic It is the opening that allows light in depending on what type of equipment you are using, if it was the diameter of the lens entrance, aperture would never change.

Have you updated the firmware? If you are in Manual Exposure, this should not be happening. Also, check your ISO that it is not on "auto".
