"I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil" - Alan Greenspan

Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan writes this in his new book "The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World"
http://representativepress.blogspot.com/2007/09/iraq-war-is-largely-about-oil...

"At at noon press conference, on May 24, 2007, at the Cannon Terrace, on Capitol Hill, Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH), ripped into the Bush-Cheney Gang's legislative scheme to privatize the oil of Occupied Iraq. He charged: "Privatizing Iraq's oil is theft.""

On The Map with Avi Lewis: John Bolton (full interview)
"The Iraq Oil Law... a little known document at the heart of the war. A law that would put the country's most valuable resource into the hands and wallets of foreign multinationals."

Hand in hand with another vile agenda (the AIPAC Iraq War push was supposed to be on the down low):
This was said before the war:
"God willing, we're going to have a great victory in Iraq," said AIPAC's Steve Rosen, the moderator.

The Bush administration was somewhat ambivalent about tying itself to AIPAC and Israel. Though it sent several officials to the meeting with strong pro-Israel messages, there were efforts to keep things low-key. The White House insisted that yesterday's speech by Rice, though delivered to a room with 2,000 people, be "off the record."

"I'm not making this up!" AIPAC's Rosen said to his guests while serving as host at a later session. "All these people were part of an off-the-record discussion."

"The AIPAC meeting -- attended by about 5,000 people, including half the Senate and a third of the House -- was planned long before it became clear it would coincide with hostilities in Iraq. And organizers tried to play down the emphasis on Iraq, dedicating only one of its 12 "forums" during the conference to the war. "This is not about Iraq," said AIPAC spokesman Josh Block. "This is about going to Congress and lobbying for the Israeli aid package.""

"Why would Iraq attack America or use nuclear weapons against us?" Philip Zelikow explains, "I'll tell you what the real threat [is] and actually has been since 1990 -- it's the threat against Israel. And this is the threat that dares not speak its name because...the American government doesn't want to lean too hard on it rhetorically because it's not a popular sell."

" According to Nexis, parts of all of this incredibly damning passage from Zelikow have been quoted in only four different places within the English-language media archived by Nexis ... that's it. A rather embarrassing---if typical---performance by the U.S. media, I'm sure you'll agree.

  • If every Muslim in the world became Mormon tomorrow - Israel would start condeming Mormonism and cry that Mormans are taking over the world (which, actually it would sort of look like that). My point is, Israel is the problem. They are the terrorists, war mongers and trouble makers that are wrecking the world.

  • All governments lie - this is just what they do.

The only way to get young men to go to war thousands of miles from home is to lie to them.

There wasn't a single oilman urging the US to go to war with Iraq but there were dozens of Jews on every US TV network and in every newspaper convincing Americans that war was the only choice. Judith MIller of the NYT, Jewish, got the inside propaganda from Scooter Libby, Jewish, inside the White House.

The P-gon group on Iraq almost all Jews.

  • Yea right, now blame the oil... USA hasn't taken 1 drop of oil from Iraq, how is it about the oil? Alan Greenspan is probably a Zionist...

  • @MinWildTwins I could say that America did not spend 1 trillion dollars to play world police. I read too, I guess it just depends on sources. Vietnam was more of another way to fight Communism, it was during the Cold War and Communism was trying to spread across the world as well as Capitalism. The S. Vietnamese Gov. called for our help and we seized it to try and take a strategic part of the world and increase our influence there, just like S. Korea.

  • If America runs out of oil, how will Americans keep their children warm during winters though?

  • @GetOutMyBidness Yes it includes both Oil and Israeli security because Sadam did fire Scud Missiles into Israel and you as well as i know that American policy Makers always put Israeli security first in compared to American security

  • American democracy starts with killing but ends with OILSad but true fact

  • @MinWildTwins Believe me, you are going to see a major decline in American power and influence. And its going to come much quicker then you think. Britons in the 1930's didn't realize they were living in the twilight of their empire. But they were.

  • @MinWildTwins The American empire is certainly going to go down. America may or may not follow. I don't think Canada is in any external danger. Perhaps Quebec may secede though. Then again a breakup of America along ethnic-racial and possibly linguistic lines is possible in the future.

  • It's not about oil, but ISRAEL. Nice try, Alan.

  • The US didn't get oil. The insurgency all but stopped petroleum production. So get off this tack.

  • @pccrybabyhater1 iraq didnt do 911 in fact they did not do any terroist attacks on america if thats what your thinking. the USA did not ask for the oil they came sweeping in taking the oil unexpedectly
