Be Quick or Be Dead es el primer sencillo del album Fear of the Dark, del grupo Iron Maiden y lanzado en 1992. La cancion es acerca de varios escandalos politicos tomando lugar en el tiempo de su realizacion, incluyendo el escandalo bancario de Robert Maxwell, la quiebra del mercado Europeo, y el caso BCCI. Fue realizado un mes anterior al album y alcanzo el puesto #2 en la lista de sencillos de Reino Unido. Se caracteriza por sus Riffs pesados de guitarra, que tienen influencias del Thrash y el Speed Metal.
En el lado-B aparecen dos canciones oficiales y una cancion oculta, incluyendo el numero de Blues, ("Nodding Donkey Blues"), y el cover de Montrose, ("Space Srarion No. 5") y la no enlistada "Bayswater Ain´t a Bad Place to Be". Lo ultimo es una pieza de comedia hablada por Bruce Dickinson, (a lo largo con un acompañamiento de guitarra acústica, de parte de Janick Gers), en el cual imita al manager de Iron Maiden Rod Smallwood. Una burla similar de Smallwood fue realizada antes, como un lado-B titulado "Sheriff on Hudderstield", el cual fue disponible en el sencillo de Wasted Years.

@MrMegaFredzeppelin Iron Maiden are amazing but their signiutre sound was pretty much lost when Bruce left the band, The X Factor and Virtuel XI are awful

The signature sound like you said is always there and if it ain't broke don't fix it-now if we could only convince Ray Christie that the idea of riding a bike with deflated tires is a 'broke' concept that should be fixed.
