@UltraGamePlays Actually most Economist and Historians agree today that Imperialism is bad for the home country because the home country has to spend a lot of resources defending and building up their inferior and less developed colonial possession. I want to make clear the people of the less advanced society are in no way genetically inferior, they simply did not have the technology, resources and institutions to have an advantage over the people who conquered them.

@UltraGamePlays I will say I don't think Imperialism is the best way to facilitate Free trade because in order to forge an Empire it requires violence which is always bad. Two countries are very capable of forging free trade and free immigration with each other peacefully and that is most desirable because it doesn't require unnecessary destruction. I'm just saying Imperialism isn't all bad like people want to paint it as.

@UltraGamePlays The Empire creates destroys political barriers that would divide people and then facilitates free trade. The empire spreads idea's and technology among the various groups. The conquered who were likely technologically less developed will likely gain access to the tech of the conqueror. The Conqueror to make the conquered lands more efficient will likely invest a lot of resources into developing it. Before Colonialism in Africa many area's didn't even have the wheel.

@UltraGamePlays Here is some food for though about Imperialism AKA Colonialism, but it's going to take a a few posts to explain. Imperialism in it's purist form is actually a plus for everyone in the long especially the conquered. The problem with Imperialism is most examples of it in recent history is stoked with racism, bigotry, and nationalism by both the Conqueror and Conquered. But the Roman Empire didn't have those and the Empire as a whole prospered through it's Imperialism.

@UltraGamePlays Then why Hong Kong one of the most Libertarian and Capitalist states in the world have prospered even with out vast resources? Capitalism is not Imperialism and Capitalism does not require imperialism. Capitalism is a FREE exchange of goods and services among individuals. Capitalism is an Economic system. Imperialism is political it requires the government and it's military. Vietnam isn't politically tied to China, but it moved towards Capitalism like China.

Vietnam has China style Capitalism and that's why it's economy is improving and isn't an international pariah like Cuba( moving away from Communism like a tortoise) and North Korea (with it's unofficial Monarchy).
