Bel Canto Trio - CONCERTI 1947-1948 II

Mario Lanza recorded at a recital touring with the Bel Canto Trio,in Toronto.March 5, 1948. (I know isn't it a picture from Toronto but imposible was to get one from that day; but sure is the Bel canto trio anyway)
***** PLOT
The play is set in Provence, France.
L'Arlésienne, which translates to "the
lady from Arles", is loved by a young
peasant Fréderi. However, upon
discovering her infidelity prior to their
wedding date, Fréderi approaches
madness. His family tries at great
length to "save" their son, but
eventually Fréderi commits suicide by
jumping off a balcony.

When I listen to him before Hollywood discovered Mario, part of me wishes they never had and that he had stayed in the world of opera. But then it is unlikely myself and millions of others would ever have heard him. 27 years old!

These are the opera performances I like best of Lanza pre Hollywood even in poor sound this is wonderful singing. Later he did the student prince with great lyric beauty the serenade was terrific.
