This video clip demonstrates the process to fill or refill Canon BCI cartridges. It is assumed that the customer has purchased a needle, syringe and has a craft knife or needle to remove the plug from the cartridge.
Ink Supply kits now come with the orange caps and everything needed to refill the cartridges. I have been using InkSupply for over 5 years on several of my printers without issue.
@sideways586, I did tape the hole where the orange clip used to be, but ink spilled out anyway and made a mess. I ended up buying a new set of OEM carts just to get the orange clips after they're empty. Inksupply's response was that I should have kept them! That's fine if you know you're going to refill, but I didn't know it at the time. Thanks for the tip about the German method. I will try that next. Still think Inksupply needs to include more info. I'm pretty handy and this is still a hassle.
@deelybob, the clip is only to stop ink leaking out while refilling. clean & dry around opening and cover with a good sticky tape instead. The OEM cart has a ball plug under the top label, pry it out to fill then replug with a plastic/nylon stopper. New stoppers usually come with refill kits. Ive used a tiny gob of silicone in a pinch.
Even better method is "german refill method", google it. Faster and less messy.

The BCI carts do not have a chip so no need to reset. You only need the resetter for the PGI/CLI carts.
