A protest in Costa Rica against the practice of shark finning--where Sharks--Tiburones in Spanish--are caught by long line fishermen from China and Taiwan and then their fins and tails are cut off while the animal is alive. Mutilated Tiburon are tossed into the ocean to die. This is for the Asian market for Shark fin Soup. The ocean ecology suffers the loss of Sharks in addition to the suffering of the animals themselves.
