This is footage from the third event of the 2009 NWR Porsche Club of America series. The event took place at Bremerton Motorsports Park on May 23, 2009.
The car is my 1999 Mazda Miata 10AE. It's been modified to the limit of the SCCA C-stock competition rules with Fat Cat Motorsports re-valved shocks and bump stops, a Flyin' Miata sway bar and exhaust, and lightweight SSR wheels shod in Hoosier tires.
This was my first time attending a PCA event. Porsche guys like they're cars, and apparently their courses very very fast. Like bumping the rev limiter in 3rd fast! I was a bit unsettled by the speed throughout the day, and it shows in my driving. That's odd for me, as I'm not usually disturbed by the speed found on an autocross course. But it looks like I'm going to have to get used to being flat at the top of third gear, as courses seem to be getting faster and faster.
Overall, I'm fine with the results of the day. Learning how to slalom at over 70 mph is an accomplishment.
This was my best run, but I'm not sure exactly how fast it was. Somewhere in the 47 second range? This was during the fun runs after timing officially stopped. Judging by how excited I am on the video it was probably pretty quick.
