Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble perform the Hendrix classic during a soundcheck at Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland Oregon on December 8th, 1989.

This is the only performance of Little Wing that I know of that Stevie played while clean. This is very rare considering he didn't play the song too much after he got clean.

  • WOW!! As I sit here typing through my tears, I MUST say I have NEVER heard Stevie play this with as much SOUL, publicly or privately. It's a privilage and an honor to have broke bread (& a few strings) with you, my Brother, RIP love.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS!!!

  • @ayotte61 Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. It means a lot. I love reading stories about Stevie!

  • The octavia pedal adds so much to it. Cuts right through me in those moments. Fly on Stevie!

  • @leach34 You got that right! He sure did know just when to kick it on and add that extra something special with the octave pedal!!

  • Hey thanks for the upload! Check out my account for an other Little Wing where Stevie is sober:)

  • @jezus3rd You've posted a bunch of Stevie vidoes that are out of this world. Thanks again for not disappointing this diehard Stevie fan!!

  • Sound check, lol Fucking beyond wicked man

    Cheers & Thanks

  • Man I miss him!!! I wish i could have gotten to see him play live!! Each ERA has their own special guitarist.. We had Stevie, those before us had Jimi, and those before them had and still have Buddy. "Can't ya just see the tears rollin down the street"

  • I hear this song is dedicated to a guitarist by the name of Paul in Michigan with messed up ears.

  • Nice! Like this one for the melodic calms on another front I'd like to recomend Houston 1983.

  • even thou i luv stevie's guitar playin the greatest of all time was hendrix who which is obvious was a great inspiration to stevie , i don't think there is to many that can cover it like stevie could he was a great loss to the music world

  • Now i dont feel bad im nit the only dude that cried a little

  • I think of this my dad everytime I hear this song now, he got me into SRV @ like 9 years old and @ 28 I still love SRV.. My pops passed away May 2011 and I found an alternate little wing version and made a slide show @ his memorial. Ironically Little Wing was one of my dads and my favorite songs.

  • That keyboard made this twice as powerful, was a great call to add him to the roster. cant remember his name off hand though.

  • Octavia! Euphoria! Very nice

  • Ya, come on Bill!
