  • it's such a beautiful moment of cinema.

  • It's Kiarostami's clever play on the nature of film and the camera itself.

  • start this video from 1.40 and play this music video at the same time "The Tough Alliance - A New Chance"

  • Does anybody know where I can watch this online? Looks great

  • @radicalsquared Makhmalbaf is wearing a hidden microphone, and it crapped out a few times during this scene. I'm assuming that Kiarostami kept the scene in because this is a completely spontaneous moment, and couldn't be "acted" out. It still works, despite the questionable audio.

  • The man was imprisoned for having impersonated Makhmalbaf, pretending to want to work on a movie w/t the family at the end of the movie. Makhmalbaf picks him up after he gets out of jail & they go visit the deceived person & her family. Although an imposter of sorts, the young man was a pretty interesting and introspective character. The scene you just watched was not "acted out"--completely real. Other episodes of the "deception" were acted out by the very persons originally involved.

  • arrepia

  • Thanks for adding clips from mohsen makhmalbaf's movies. He is one of my favorites. Do you have a clip from "A moment of innocence"? :)
