@kindlydude Smiling pictures of George? I counted one. I've seen George with bigger smiles in pictures with John, Ringo, Ravi Shankar, Bob Dylan, Astrid. I really don't see George smiling in any of these pictures. He's smirking. To me, he rarely looked happy in pictures with Pattie.

According to George's autobiography this was written for Olivia, not Pattie. Also according to George, Something was NOT written for Pattie. The story that got lost in the press was his relationship with Joey Heatherton AFTER he met Pattie. In some of the 1964 US Beatle press conferences, George acted like a giddy 10 year old boy at the mention of Joey's name, while at the same time denying dating Pattie. She's not extraordinarily beautiful but there is a unique mix of innocence, femininity and cuteness in pattie that you rarely find in women. obviously these famous men can date any women but were fighting over pattie. George's song "something" best describes Pattie's qualities.

@JMichael65 - So true, plus both of them had lots of other affairs while married to her. She suffered a lot.
I suspect it's almost worse than not being loved - to actually get your true love - and to experience the heights of joy that one can get from love as a naive young person who hopes the joy and love will last forever, and to lose yourself in the loved one, and then afterwards to lose his interest due to over-familiarity so that you think little of yourself while growing older.

She was stunning. Actually, she got the raw end of the deal from two musical superstars: George fell in love with Krishna and left her alone; Eric fell in love with the bottle and coke and left he alone, as well.
