In this video we present two of the treasures of La Gomera Island, Silbo language and Garajonay.
Silbo Language is included in the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and it's a complex ancient telecommunication system to be able to deliver messages a great distances avoiding walking the deep valley of La Gomera, used by aboriginal tribes before the arrival of Spaniards and adapted these days to any language. The initial sounds in the video mean "Bienvenidos a la Gomera" (in Spanish) and the second sentence corresponds with the English translation "Welcome to La Gomera" in Silbo.
Garajonay, on the other hand, is a National Park, one of the four present in the Canary Islands. It preserves an ancient kind of humid forest that was common in the Mediterranean basin millions of years ago, the Laurisilva, a natural history living museum.

  • Тенерифе, Испания.

    Ты Русская?

  • @Solstisol We're sorry to disappoint you, but there are no Russian people working in the Traveline series or even in Zemia Media. Also, this is La Gomera, not Tenerife :)

    Ukrainian, yeah?

  • Tenerife, Spain. Oh, it's no disappointment at all! I was just curious, and still am. Judging by the lass's accent and your thinly-veiled anti-Russian sentiment, I am now guessing that she is Belorussian or Ukrainian. Am I warm? Also, I never said it was Tenerife. As you can see from my given location, I live in Tenerife. This doesn't mean that I think that everybody else lives here. I do; however; regularly travel from here to Gomera. Thanks anyway for the very nice video. Solsti.
  • Bellas y bonitas imágenes de La Gomera. Saludos y felicidades por el pequeño reportaje
