Pro Tools 8 - An Exciting New Look

I am thinking of purchasing Pro Tools 8, and I wanted to find out what else I would need to purchase to run this software? I have keyboards, PC, guitars, tascam interface, but I just need to find out if I need anything else?

This version of pro tools is a shameless copy of Logic 8. But is good to see Avid finally having some competition after of years of having a monopoly.

^ um correction Logic has been out for timeee, and like pro tools 8 has only jus come out, so i doubt they copied them! it doesnt matter if dr dre uses cubase or fl studio, its how you use it!!
like for example if ive got a kit car ive built myself, and my neighbor has a lamborghini, most people would say the lambo would destroy my kit car, but in sense who knows whats under the hood or hidden in my car?
same as software! Rusko the Dubstep Producer uses Acid Pro... not logic, its all good!

Pro tools is a nightmare. I fought it for a year before switching to Logic. And even that barely worked. My macbook died recently and I got a new Imac. I tried to load the pro tools into this computer because The m-box is the only audio interface I have and a friend who knows this stuff advised me to install protools so I can at least use the interface with Logic. Pro tools will not even launch and I also lost Garageband! I hate music software. Give me a 4-track tape machine! It's all a LIE!!!

Fruity loops is bit bad as it seems, but im gonna try this pro tools soon or later

This is M-powerd right? Is it true you need a m-audio Interface?

it depends on what you want. you get m-powered if you have an m-audio interface.

you get pro tools LE if you get a digidesign interface like an Mbox or a Digi 002 or 003.

what about Pro tools 8 hd?

to get HD you need to by a separate PCI card that digidesign sells for processing plugins as well as an interface from them.

the card/software package runs at about 8 grand for the "intro-level" HD system. after that you get the interface which is probably another 2 grand.

Remember, Pro Tools isn't only for MUSIC.
It's one of the top POST-PRODUCTION AUDIO editors too :)
