Holy Saturday in Jerusalem, 2011. The Holy Fire is a thousand year old tradition where a fire miraculously appears in the tomb of Jesus on the Saturday before Easter and then is spread by candles throughout the city.

  • @erosensai OK, he is not naked. It is a brief pat down by Israeli Police and then he ALWAYS goes inside alone.

  • @Aquanam08290 the priest is always examined head to toe (naked i might add) and then he is allowed to perform the miracle, and there have been people present during the miracle also before.

  • @bloodhoundHermetic Well, thats the question. The idea is that its some type of energy, specifically energy associated with Jesus' resurrection. Obviously that only explains it if you are a Christian, or as some of the previous comments show you may need to specifically be Greek Orthodox (or other denominations). So, while some may say they know its real or fake the only person that really knows is the Greek patriarch as he enters the tomb alone and comes out with the fire.

  • @mrmichigan97 Where does the initial fire come from?

  • @cdianne2002 Why don't you believe, Faith is about believing in the impossible.

  • Regardless... Their joy is contagious i would have to say!

  • I do believe in miracles., I believe miracles can happen everyday. If this was really a miracle and it happens annually, why not let the people see where the fire is coming from, so that people may believe with their eyes as well as their hearts? For all we know some random guy ran inside, took a few minutes to light it with a lighter or a match or something and then ran outside of Jesus's tomb.

God does do real miracles. People can lie, and people can't be trusted.

  • I don't believe Jesus puts his face on food though. I think he has better things to do with his time.

  • @AlmondWillow I touched it... it hurt. And yeah there are "reports" of all kinds of things but no proof. Every religion has all types of reports of miracles but you dont believe those, just the reports from your religion because you want to believe them. If this video was exactly the same but just about a Muslim or Buddhist ceremony/miracle you would be the one typing about how its phosphorus or something of the sort.

  • @Vierotchka exactly, people that are religious are so easy to deceive. They dont even bother to investigate anything they just consider it a miracle even though it was no big deal.
