There's more on Scouting's biggest project at http://summitblog.com
The Boy Scouts of America and skateboarding in pools aren't usually found in the same sentence.
We're changing that.
At the Summit Bechtel Reserve, Scouting's biggest-ever project, skateboarding is going to be one of the featured sports. West Virginia, the home of the 10,000 acre Scout camp, will sooon be home to some of the world's best skate facilities.
Hard to believe? Not really. If you consider the Scouts' commitment to excellence in everything they do, and our goal of always increasing the Scouting Movement, skating is really a perfect fit.
Remember, too, that Scouting is synonymous with safe Scouting, so you can rest assured that, as a participant or as a parent, that all of the activities at the Summit will have the best instruction available.
That, of course, includes skateboarding. Have fun, be safe, and we'll see you at the Summit.
or really, just included in an Action Sports merit badge will be better.

I am still waiting for the Skateboarding merit badge, since I was a boy scout in the 90s when skateboarding was at an all time high. I am now 26 and an Assistant Scoutmaster, and I am still waiting for that badge, so I can be a merit badge counselor for it :)

@AlexTheMartian Not sure on the merit badge, but you should definitely check out getting on jamboree staff for skating. The company in charge of building the skateparks at the Summit is the same one that helped create the X Games. Call your council; they've got all the details. Thanks for the comment, Alex!
