Marx mainly writes about the FAILURES of CAPITALISM, not Communism one of the solutions to rectify the failures. Marx's observations of Capitalism's failures has been proven rock solid as they as relevant today as it was 160 years ago.
David Harvey in his animation merely gave an overview of how the Crash came about. He said he never had a solution.
The animation is superb, although he relegates LAND as one of the prime root cause reasons for the crash of 2008.

@hols2000 No, the reason why "nobody takes Marx seriously" is because the ruling class has attempted to make it appear to be a silly idea by indoctrinating children before they can think. Poland was not poor due to Marxism. It was poor due to Soviet state-capitalism, overzealous Leninist revolution and capitalist hostilities. You have been manipulated into believing that the Soviet Union was a communist state -- it absolutely was not, and could not have become so.

Dude ... I lived in a country where marxian thories were implemented. Poland before 1990 was totaly poor due to comunism - food stamps, lack of goods, queues everywhere, most of the things (medicine, housing) controled by the state. You could afford chocolate only for Christmas. Even toilet paper was a luxurios good. You call that prosperity? That's why nobody takes Marx seriously. The problem is that you probably haven't experienced poor - travel, visit countries like Belarus.

@DaniOcean "so many false assertions"
At least the author of the video pointed out, one by one which part of HTWW's claims are wrong and explained them.
How about you do the same?
Anybody can call someone a hypocrite, but you have to follow it by "because" to make it a decent argument.
You don't need to call someone names, you just prove it and that's the way he did, unlike you.
Good response.
If Capitalism followed the original works of Adam Smith, it may be respectable. But instead it has morphed into a monstrous, all consuming, destructive force serving the few at the expense of the many. Ironically it was the vast unjustness of this system which created the, trade unionist, socialist and communist movements based upon accurate critiques by Marx.
Basically, if capitalism was fair and beneficial to the majority, there would be no need for Marx...but it’s not.

@TheDrunkenCabDriver No you are missing the point Stalin had nothing to do with real socialism. Stalin betrayed socialism for his own wishes. The failings of the USSR were teh failings of over centralization and Stalinism.
