I love this movie!! The look of this video of the Blue Angel looks a little different from the German and English versions I have. I like this look, whatever it is that's different!

The biggest tragedy is Kurt Gerron's: He is the fat, obviously disgusting owner of the nightbar in which cynical "Lola" is seducing scholboys and their techers alike.

Gerron played the wealthy, often slimy middleclass "wannabes" , bankrupt bankers( in a pardoy) and the like in many films. After 1933 he was accused of that. By playing his role he had become what Goebbels wanted him to be: The Jewish criminal or bloodsucker. He died in a concentration camp.
