  • Could you please explain more about what you said legato on your right hand because i think it adds so much to the whole piece.

    Thanks

  • Hi, for an explanation on legato bass, please look at my profile for a tutorial on the Legato Bass technique.

    I hope this helps!

  • Thank you this helps very much, but not to sound like a dumb jerk, i was referring to your right hand chords and how you did those. I hope that made a little more sense.

    Thank you so much

  • Hmm... I understand your question, but I'm not sure how to answer it :D

Legato on the right-hand means connecting the notes together, without lifting your hand off the key after you strike it. Imagine the *opposite* of legato - stacatto - where each key is hit sharply and the finger is removed from the keyboard quickly.

If you get an adult learning piano book, they probably have exercises to get your legato technique better.

I'm sorry I can't be of much more help than this...

  • You are one of the people who inspired me to play. Been subscribed since January 2011 when I got my accordion. Nice song and tutorial. Keep the videos coming.

    Greetings from Denmark. :D

  • @justabitofme Same here. To get a thicker sound out of your bass (for the last part) I just play a bit more aggressively, pulling the bellows a liitle harder than the rest of the song, which i play gently.

  • I've just spent the last couple of hours learning this - you're a great teacher! Many thanks

  • Hello Sir you taught that very well, thanks. Can I ask you a question.... was the Godfather theme written especially for the film or is it actually an already existing tune? I understand it is actually called Speak Softly Love, a song with lyrics - but this still doesn't tell me if it was written for the film or not. Do you know?

  • @moshezuchter Hello,

i have also a question for the last part. In the last part during you play the song you hold a Key on the Piano Side, and then another key and so on...that gives the song a nice character.

Can you please say, what are those "Notes" you hold during playing the song in the last part?

    Thanks

  • Best tutorial ever! I can totally follow everything :)

  • I have a little problem with my accordion: it has only a set of soun in the bass. What can I do?
