http://www.affordengtech.com ... This is the beta version of the low-cost CNC mill. The mill has been constructed from readily-available off-the-shelf materials where possible, with a focus on being cheap and accurate. Even on this first version of the machine, accuracies of 0.05mm were achieved, at feedrates of 4000mm/min. The final production version will be capable of achieving 0.01mm accuracy. • You're right...it's actually 4500mm/min... 300mm in 4sec... check the timing in the video...

  • Is your version 2 ready yet? Where is the mill shipped from? Can it operate with EMC2?

  • @perbjarnebro It's ready, yes, just finished...about to update websites and youTube, etc. It ships from either UK or South Africa. And yes, it works with any machine controller software :)

  • @perbjarnebro Yes, it's ready...see channel for updated videos :) It can work with any machine controller software and is shipped from either South Africa, Germany or the UK, depending on buyers location.

  • It's built from Aluminium to reduce shipping weight and keep it portable. It can cut Aluminium and brass easily and can go through mild steel up to an 8mm tool at about 2000mm/min. The next version (To be completed at end Mar'11) will handle even more...(thanks for the interest)
