One can not misunderstand the jungian respect for spiritual phenomena as an assumption that science is not spiritual enough so we have to try another approach. In his comments for "The Secret of the Golden Flower" Jung said that science is one of the most powerful tools we have and - though it isn't everything - with science we may get further.

maxineshell, I have to desagree with you. Actually Jung stopped his work as psychoanalyst because he thought Freud was not doing science. A scientific approach in psychology was never denied - it was, in fact, a goal.

In response to Yoman36. YES,, Jungian psychology IS more spiritual than science, it is not supposed to be science! That was one of the main divisions theoretically between Jung and Freud. For Jung and Von Franz the universe was ALIVE not static and mechanical and dead.

Louise von Franz, great lady. Viewers ought to "google" her, she has lots of things to say. Wrote some wonderful books too.
