The EJUS integration infrastructure was designed to be a concrete step towards creation of a Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) and is intended to facilitate communication between loosely coupled autonomous processes.
Using Microsoft's BizTalk Server as an asynchronous messaging engine, GJXDM standard XML documents are passed between and among systems. Most justice systems share an instance of SQL Server and can also share data directly using database objects such as triggers and stored procedures.
Some integration is HTTP based and involves controlled data views between systems. Moving forward, the EJUS integration infrastructure will both expose and consume web services
