@IABOY4444 Yes! I also have a 2005 Maxx. The first thing I noted was that you have to take the side cover completely off — front is held by a very strong velcro. The fusebox diagram is on the inside of the cover. You must get the cover oriented properly with the fusebox to determine which fuse to pull. There are 5 or 6 10A fuses. You must pull the one that says its for “radio”. Make sure you start & run the vehicle for a bit (the clicking should be gone) then shut it off. Replace the fuse.
mine acts like what u said but theres no cd in it i took all of thim out to put new ones in and now it wont take any iv tryed what u said do but nothing worked
My Father said not to do this because I would still need to go to the dealership to get the radio reprogrammed or unlocked because we had to put this radio in because the previous one had a cd stuck in... is this true or should I be ok to take out the fuse and then put it back in?
I was determined to get my CD player fixed. I have a 2004 Ford Explorer with a 6 in dash CD. First I wanted to get the CD out. I used pmhuter method with a piece of tape around a credit car and removed my CD. I was still getting a CD error and was not able to insert a CD. I found your video and thought I would try. On my car the fuse for my radio was #3. I followed your instructions, turned my car back on and
I was able to insert a CD and listen to my music:) Thanks
As another thought, my Radio plug was located BELOW the black box. I'm not sure which one you were pointing to, but my friend who works on cars was the one to pull it for me/replace it, and that was the one he took out. I don't know if I saw it wrong on my end or not, but basically the one you pointed to didn't match with the one on my car - just make sure to check the diagram on the panel! :) Again, though, thank you so much for the DIY. :)
Thank you so much! I tried this out, and it worked perfectly! :) I just hate that there are CDs that aren't compatible - you just said CD-R, right? Do you know what the best kind of CD to use in the Malibu is?

This worked like a charm. My cd player hasn't worked in 8 months. I was sceptical, but not any more. Thanks

Worked like a dream on my 05 Malibu Maxx. Thanks for the tip - it was a library CD and I really didn't want to have to pay for it.

Thank you, it worked!! Rather than wait for my husband to "get around to it", I did it myself thanks to your help! Amazing, fantastic and so on!
