This cheap strap has apparently helped many alleviate their runner's knee symptoms very quickly, including mine. You may want to give it a try.

  • a tight it band is one of many causes of runners knee... so this might work for some people but make no difference wot so ever to others... to cure runners knee you have to identify the inefficiency in your own bio mechanics and put it right.... the single most effective piece of equipment for loosening tendon fibres in the legs is a foam roller

  • @mrmrgino1983 I agree completely. But so many people have reported instant cures with this strap on Amazon I had to review it. It also had a similar experience with it.

  • Just ordered one from amazon.co.uk. Your stretches helped, but as my distance increases, so does the worry that it's going to go again. Anything that helps is good. Thanks Chad from Russ in the UK.

  • @Davids40thbirthday Good luck Russ. It helped mine greatly. I actually don't have to wear it anymore. It's a great strap. Serves its purpose. Let me know if it helps. I’m curious.

  • Hi Chad,

i have patella tendonitis (pain just below the knee cap itself), which i thought was nick named runners knee?! Is runners knee a generalised condition that is related to all forms of knee pain as a result of running, or do you too have pain below the kneecap?

The only reason i ask, is because i would like to give this band ago, but biomechanically i cant see how it would benefit my patella tendon inflamation (runners knee!?)

  • @murdoch2486 I doubt the strap would help with your concern. Runner’s knee is pain on the outside of the knee from not having the IT band stretched enough. My other video called Runner’s knee Stretches explains this. Sorry I can’t help with your particular area.

  • @murdoch2486 sounds like patello femoral pain syndrome or if it has progressed far enough chondro malacia patella. these two are basically the same condition and are caused by the patella not tracking correctly. to test for chondro malacia place the gap between your index finger and thumb over the top of the patella while standing and apply enough downwards force to stop the patella moving upwards then SLOWLY!! contract the quad. if this hurts then its chondro malacia. SLOWLY!!!!!!

  • @mrmrgino1983

yes it does, i notice the pain the most when im out on the hills.

  • @murdoch2486 does your knee hurt when walking stairs? especially down?

  • I'm pretty sure you can find these at Fleet Feet stores, if you've got one near you.

  • @theschoolpsych

    no probs mate,

and to clear it up patella tendonitis is 'jumpers knee'! got the 2 mixed up!

    regards
