Imprisoned Bahá'í Leaders: Seven Prayers for Seven Souls A Candle Light Prayer Vigil - Part 2
September 21, 2010, 7 pm
Ottawa ON
On the evening of September 21st, the United Nations International Day
of Peace, over three hundred people gathered at the Human Rights
Monument in Ottawa to stand in solidarity with the seven
imprisoned Bahá'í leaders in Iran. As hundreds stood on Elgin Street
lit candles in hand, they listened to the individual stories of these
innocent people told by Susanne Tamas, member of the National
Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'í of Canada and saw their faces
projected beside the monument. Prayers were said, sung and chanted by
the Ottawa Bahá'í choir. The most moving moment for many was to
listen to the recording of a prayer chanted by one of these souls.
