My attempt at playing "Black Mountain Side", a Jimmy Page acoustic instrumental from Led Zeppelin's first album.

The track is supposedly Jimmy's interpretation of "Blackwaterside", a folk song recorded by singer-songwriter Bert Jansch.

This version of Black Mountain Side uses the DADGAD tuning, popular amongst folk guitarists (although on the Led Zeppelin album, Jimmy Page actually drops it down a further semitone to C# G# C# F# G# C#).

I'm playing a Tanglewood acoustic into Cubase, going through the "Roomworks" reverb on the "Room with a View" setting.

  • I never got an opportunity due to a lot of reasons out of my control to take music courses so I am not familiar with a lot of terms.

I assume cover means using your own instrument in synch with someone else playing.

  • What does the word *cover* mean? Whatever it means you did a nice job.

  • @snowfeilds

You are a trippy dude for saying that

  • Like it! How hard would you say this is to learn?

  • Everybody that learns DADGAD I think tries this out, you do a really nice version more like Bert Jansch's Black waterside, keep it up, we can always use another good musician !

  • Great cover man!! Nice job!
