http://facebook.com/IAmFitOnline Here's a 5 minute full body warm up before you work out.
The latest and best fitness info I have read has taught me that you shouldn't stretch before you work out. Stretching can possibly increase your risk for injury and decrease your performance while you work out. Cold muscles don't stretch.
You should, however, warm up. Here's a five minute full body warm up that will get you ready for just about any workout.

  • Good. That helps.. thank you

  • Hey no worries, life happens, right? Anyway, thanks so much for the advice! Hope your move went well. Am still using this vid for warm up and now I might use it along with the cool down stretches I've been doing :)

  • @CheezInspector You are very welcome. Sorry for the huge delay in replying ( I've been in the midst of a job change/moving cross country the last few months)

Yes, this would be appropriate for a cool down, but also, after you exercise is a really great time to do some stretching. Your muscles will be warm and this is when you want to stretch, as opposed to before you exercise when your muscles are cold.

I usually walk around for a few minutes and then do 5 to 10 minutes of stretching.

  • Thanks for this. Have been using it frequently. Question: is this vid also appropriate for doing after-exercise cool down too?
