Pontiac meant performance and style, from the 1950's all the way up to their unexpected cancellation announcement in 2009. I decided to make a second Pontiac retrospective, adding to the original 4 minute clip I previously posted. In this version, I've attempted to show a chronological timeline of sorts for Pontiac, including their WWII production, right up to an explanation as to what happened to Pontiac's mystique and credibility in the 2000's.
The Pontiac nameplate will be discontinued, but Pontiac fans around the world will never forget.
Pontiacs were cool. They were fun. They had style. Their designs were built on pure driving passion, excitement, and performance.

Not a bad tribute at all. I remember reading a mag and saw that guy hugging the last V8. Hope it was the 301. My favorite Pontiac would be a 69 GP,SJ with a 428/4spd 390hp or a 61 Ventura with late year 421/4sp option.
there would still be pontiac if gm and others made better cars in the first place instead of cutting corners to save a buck. I buy toyota and my entire familly is army and ive lost familly for America. I cant continue to buy garbage just because you say its patriotic, you have to meet me halfway and build a decent car. the cars in this vid were great cars but what 1999 or newer pontiac is built well and everywhere like a camry is? I know people on this post will disagree but America has spoken.
a company that should not have been put to rest. i cried when i heard the news that pontiac was dead. R.I.P pontiac. thanks for all your great cars! :'(
makes me really sad. i didnt grow up in the 60's, but i fondly remember my 89 camaro's cousin, the third gen firebird. some of those cars that they built were fantasic. just as it was with oldsmobile, its very sad to see another great brand disapear. i have a hatred from asian cars, and a discust for the stupid americans that buy them. in fact 8:10, thats what im talking about
dont have a discust, my grandfather lost a leg in ww2 and went to chrysler to buy a car. a huge banner said "buy American" when he bought it. I just bought my wife a 2005 nissan altima. long story short I opened the hood of his chysler and it said "powered by mitsubishi" across the engine (of course mitsubishi built the zeros that attacked pearl ). oh yea, my wifes altima was put together in tennesee and nissan treated me right. chysler treated grandpa like dirt when his car was a lemon lol.
