the hell, youve NEVER heard of Sparta? they teach like 5th graders about stuff like that
sparta was a city-state in ancient greece, pretty much the opposite of athens which was where most intellectuals lived because they pretty much lived and breathed war, once a guy is old enough its mandatory to join the military, marry around 30, and they serve until they're around 60
