This is from March 29, 2007, after the performance of the Hamburg Ballet's "Nijinsky" at the Hamburgische Staatsoper. John Neumeier, choreographer and expert on Nijinsky, spoke to the crowd about the Nijinsky Project 2007. He is hoping to raise money for the purchase of several Nijinsky items, which will add to his collection and eventually be turned into an exhibition.

  • I have a crush on John Neumeier! He is a genius! Americans have not fully understood or appreciated his work. Many of the dance critics are clueless about the depth of his choreography, and its relationship to the music.

  • I agree--whenever he comes to the US the reviews are always mixed, and I am completely stunned that so many people fail to understand. It's crazy how underrated he is in the US. I would love for American companies to regularly perform his work as European companies do.

  • PLEASE, PLEASE. PLEASE translate this into English. I don't think I've ever seen a ballet choegraphed by Neumeier that I've not enjoyed immensely - including this on YouTube.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • Sieht aus wie Charlotte von Mahlsdorf.
