Tibet 1985 005 Crowds in Lhasa

005 shows big crowds of Tibetans gathering in the center of old Lhasa. They seemed fascinated by the video camera.
In 1985 I bought one of the first Sony video cameras for the consumer market. Living in Japan I took a trip to China. While in Chengdu got permission to go to Tibet. I was joined by 2 Germans whom I met in Chengdu: Matheus and Gunther. We traveled all around Tibet after renting a van with driver in Lhasa. The locals in Tibet were fascinated by the camera and thus there are many crowds and interesting scenes. I cannot speak Tibetan but I am fluent in Chinese so we managed to get to a lot of places that were not being toured at that time in Tibet.
