@Dourdandepp He tells the story quite often that he was driven by a simple question. Why do people do what they do? Using that question he went out and read over 700 books on psychology, behavior, etc.

I know he was interested in psychology, most of what he says comes from insight from his work with about 3 million people around the world, as he said - it's difficult not to see the patterns.
