Rode NTG-3 Test

I think there is still a lot of noise, is it normal that is has that much noise?

Sounds great. I'm thinking about picking this mic up, but wanted to know where you typically have the mic placed? On a boom overhead pointed down? On the camera? And how far away?

@scvranger I had the camera on a tripod and then boomed the mic overhead usually 1 ft away from the object or right above the frame of picture.

it is good for foley recording, but there was an audible 'sand' in female and male voices in your test
