A general test of the Rode NTG-3 professional shotgun microphone. The camera used was a Sony DCRVX2000 with a Beachtek XLR to 1/8" adapter attached. Here is a photo of all the gear: http://i49.tinypic.com/2rcsv89.jpg

  • I think there is still a lot of noise, is it normal that is has that much noise?

  • @SpawronLang It could be because I used an adapter for the audio as opposed to a real mixer.

  • Sounds great. I'm thinking about picking this mic up, but wanted to know where you typically have the mic placed? On a boom overhead pointed down? On the camera? And how far away?

  • @scvranger I had the camera on a tripod and then boomed the mic overhead usually 1 ft away from the object or right above the frame of picture.

  • this sounds great! did you do any eq-ing/post to enhance?

  • @wossbass no there was no eq or post enhancements
