I purchased one of these devices for my elderly father who live thousands of miles away so he could call me without costing him too much money, as he is on a fixed income. Once he got the hang of it, he really enjoyed the saving....That is until the day it STOPPED WORKING for no reason. He thought he did something wrong. I let him know that he did not. In fact, it seems common for these 'magic jack offs' to die after 30 days, making it impossible to return for a refund. And Customer Service? HA!

If you are having problems then it's not the MagicJack itself. IT WORKS FINE FOR SOME OF US. like I said the MJ is subject to the same types of issues as cell phones.

Just ordered my free trial. Got a dedicated PC just in case i have any of these problems everyones B!tching about. The quality of these VOIP products depend on a lot of technical hardware overhead between you, the network servers, the person you're calling, and especially the machine you're using. Save some money, get a cheap old PC just for this MJ, if you don't already have one. Make sure it has USB 2.0 and a good network adapter, and you're good to go.

They send by USPS with delivery confirmation and takes 3-4 days once you order.
I would caution that magic jack connection drops sometimes. So it is not as reliable as say vonage. For now this is acceptable to me as cost is 12 times cheaper.
